Paint booth

I'm in the process of setting up my own paint shop. Here's a few pictures during the ongoing construction. This picture is taken through the front doors of the cross flow booth. The open squares will be filled with filters to clean the incoming air. The duct work is sitting inside waiting to be installed and connected to the exhaust stack.

The second picture is looking through the front doors. The back wall is visible. This will be covered with filters to catch the exhausting particulates.

The third picture shows the used flammables cabinet that I purchased. I was excited to find a used one locally because these cabinets are quite expensive. The material on top of it are the filters for the exhaust wall.

The fourth picture shows the 24" tubaxial exhaust fan along with the 2 hp motor. The remaining duct work will be finished soon.

Does this mean Peter Weigle will no longer be painting any of your frames?

No. Peter will still do some paint jobs for me. It will be awhile before I'm up to speed with painting my own frames. Painting is a skill that takes time to learn and for a long time I've wanted to learn. Plus having the whole operation in house will be great. I'm very excited but realistic in my expectations of how long it will take me to get up to speed. People have grown accustommed to seeing really nice paint on my frames so I don't want to take a step backward. Perhaps when I'm able to do a nice job on single color paint jobs I'll do those in house and send out the fancier/more difficult paint jobs until I'm comfortable doing those and happy with the results.

Do you have a water hose plumbed in? A quick spritz helps keep any renegade dust at bay. What I have learned... creighton wade
